VERMONT

Vermont's Pavilion, on Ile Sainte-Hélène near the island's Metro station, illustrates the story of Man and his World with an accent on famed scenery and proud tradition.  The soaring lines of the pavilion are in themselves symbolic of the Green Mountains of Vermont, which in winter are equally popular when snow-laden and with ski trails. In the Theatre Section of the pavilion there is a continuous full color show. "The Beckoning Country" has been specially produced for Expo and creates the impression that visitors are in Vermont -- enjoying its climate, scenery, activities, and hospitality.

A Hall of History draws attention to the close historical association of Vermonters and Canadians. Through the six months of Expo 67 a Vermont sculptor may be seen at work on a 12-foot sculpture of explorer Samuel de Champlain who discovered the 136-mile lake which bears his name. (CD #4 Set 9 #5-4)
