SWISS PAVILION

“The Future Reflected in Good and Plentiful Water”

Switzerland is the land of snow- and ice-capped Alpine peaks and shimmering waterfalls and streams that cascade into deep, clear lakes. Switzerland is a landlocked nation, but it is rich in its plentiful resources of water, and its great rivers flow into all of the countries that surround it.

An eye-catching display at the entrance to the pavilion featured a giant faucet, seemingly suspended in mind-air, with a torrent of water gushing from it. I was thrilled to see this, as I had first seen a similar display at the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair. Inside, giant panoramic photos showcased life in Switzerland. (CD #3 Set 6 #14)
