CITIES SERVICE WORLD'S FAIR BAND OF AMERICA

Led by conductor Paul Lavalle, the "Cities Service Band of America" had been a regular feature on radio and television for many years before they became the re-named "Cities Service World's Fair Band of America" for both years of the Fair. The band was a familiar sight as they traveled across the grounds in a special rolling bandstand, stopping for short performances along the way. Here clown Emmett Kelly Jr. joins in with them on a stop near the Kodak pavilion. (CD #35 Set 179 #58)

The band also played full performances each day. On the picture above the location for that day's concert is listed as the Pool of Industry; here they are performing at a bandstand somewhere near the Hawaii pavilion. The exact location is unknown but it appears to be on the Texas Pavilions grounds. (CD #25 Set 133 #14)
